Information we collect
When you use the service, we automatically receive your IP address as part of normal network requests. We use it for operational purposes such as keeping the service online, preventing abuse, and protecting against attacks. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the service is used, which may collect additional aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, referring sites, approximate location, device type, and browser.
If you sign in, we store account information (such as your email, display name, and profile metadata) through our authentication provider so we can keep your session and profile working across devices.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the service. IP addresses help us detect abuse, rate limit, and keep streaming reliable. Analytics data helps us understand which features get used and where things are breaking. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
Velara relies on third-party providers for important parts of the experience:
- Streaming sources. Movies and TV shows are proxied from independent third-party APIs. We do not host the media, and those providers may have their own logging and privacy practices outside of our control.
- Google Analytics. Governed by Google’s own privacy policy. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the service.
- Authentication. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, which processes your email and session data to keep you logged in.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email contact@vel.lol.
Cookies & local storage
Velara uses cookies and browser local storage for essentials like keeping you signed in, remembering your settings, and supporting analytics. You can clear or block these at any time through your browser, but some features may stop working if you do.
Data security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Please use a unique password and keep your login credentials safe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
